Agriculture is the most important economic sector in Kenya. Almost 80% of the rural Kenyan population are employed within the agriculture. Many of them face risks and problems every day for example the lack access to financial inputs or markets. ICanFarm was founded in 2018 with the vision to enable food security while creating farm profits. They want to improve the living conditions of the smallholder farmers and support them by building up a farming business. The business model of ICanFarm is to organize a construct, that connects the farmers with investors and off-takers and shares the profits between these parties. The target is to create a constant flow of money and agricultural produce.

As Africa’s premier crowdfunding platform, ICanFarm identifies viable farm ventures based on the market demand and pools resources from investors to enable farming as a business. The platform also leverages mobile technology and farm cooperatives to enable successful farm ventures.
